Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to operate additional flights for the return of thousands of Pakistanis residing in the UK after the UK added Pakistan to its 'red list' of travel bans.
In Headlines today Pakistan PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafez Khan said the national airline had decided to fly additional flights before the April 9 deadline. He said that thousands of people had come to Pakistan during the Good Friday and Easter holidays and now their return has become a difficult process. He also said that after this move of the British government, foreign airlines have increased the fare to Rs 4 lakh per passenger. It may be recalled that the British government had yesterday included Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya and the Philippines in the red list and banned the entry of passengers other than British or Irish nationals from these countries.
